Learn how to make your own PLARN - plastic strips of grocery sacks, crocheted alone or in tandem with another yarn, in order to make sturdy and waterproof items, such as beach bags in this class, but also useful for donated sleeping mats for unhoused members of our community. You’ll want to start collecting your grocery bags now, as each person needs about 40, though we do have lots here to share. Anyone is welcome to come to the first week for the plarn making class, and the second week is recommended for people who already know how to crochet- as we’ll be turning our plarn into bags! There won’t be time in this one hour class to teach HOW to crochet, but if you are already comfortable with basic stitches, we’d love to have you join us. If not, set up a couple private lessons beforehand and we’ll get you ready to roll!
